Glad it's back
As a kid in the 60s WKTZ was on in our house all the time almost from the time they first went on the air in '64. While I didn't particularly care for this type of music at the time, as an adult now I'm amazed at how many of the melodies I recognize from my childhood and the memories they bring back of my parents, both of whom are now gone. It's a great way to keep them close. So thank you for bringing Jones College Radio back from the dead again.

Thank you!
The flagship of Beautiful Music has gone into the west. Such a blessing it was for we who knew Jones College Radio. Thank you for this massive snapshot of a few days twilight.
Someone asked about the JCR catalogue: the Jones family has usually been rather cagey about their station's operations. Why, I cannot fathom. I inquired a few years ago when their meticulously digitized recordings were apparently wiped out by a power surge. Since that time, JCR had a noticeable dearth of the rare old library offerings which once populated their rotation.
Long term listeners will know what I mean: the old reel-to-reel tapes to which the vinyl records had been committed a few decades back had a noticeable audio bleed from one side of the tape to the other. In silent moments, you could hear whispered crosstalk from other songs or songs long gone. This continued until after WKTZ's FM broadcast operations ceased.
Suffice to say, that was truly the end of the old JCR, when that marvellous old library went silent. I doubt any other station has many of those records. It will be a shame if the Jones family breaks up that collection. But following usual form, they may already have done so. Whatever the case, they are stumm.

Nervana Found!
Thank you so much for archiving the wonderful JCR music! For me, Nervana was initially lost and now it has truly been found!
Was also wondering what happened to the JCR Music Library and what it would take to put it back on the Internet? It seems that it would really be an entirely automated process that could be operated from someones home. Would not all that would be required is the Internet Server, the Music Library interface equipment and the Music Library itself? Also do not understand why JCR went off the Internet - again, was it not a fully automated system with no need for 24-hour constant attention and sponsors?
Again, many thanks for your efforts, they are truly appreciated.
